THE Property Council of Australia's Illawarra chapter has welcomed the NSW Government's continued support for the growth of Port Kembla's port.

But Illawarra members are disappointed there were no big ticket projects in the state budget to boost Wollongong's revitalisation and West Dapto housing growth.

Illawarra chapter chair Geoff Jones said the port's growth was phenomenal and the extra $15 million towards its upgrade would ensure it remained a vital part of the Illawarra success story.

But incentives were also needed to help the growth of a diverse regional economy and affordable housing for residents, he said.
