MORE than 400 people gathered yesterday for the funeral of a humble South Coast couple murdered in their Batehaven home earlier this month.

Ken Keyte, 87, and his wife, Margaret, 71, were remembered as a couple who shared everything.

Sons Garry and Don described their parents' deaths as "our town's darkest chapter", saying the person responsible had robbed a family of two loved ones and shattered a community's innocence.
