sport declaration with Robert Dillon

The Newcastle Jets have created an unwanted chapter in A-League history by going from champions to wooden spooners in the space of 12 months.

? The Jets won last season's grand final with a 1-0 triumph against Central Coast.

Since then they have lost a host of players from their grand final squad, including Jade North, Stuart Musialik, Mark Bridge, Andrew Durante and James Holland. Adam Griffiths is also leaving at season's end.

? Last season the Jets won 12 of 25 games, scoring 31 goals and conceding 26.

This season they have won three of 19 games, scoring 19 goals and conceding 34. With two games to go, they are last by seven points.
